John M. Kane, MD is Vice President for Behavioral Health Services of the North Shore - Long Island Jewish Health System and Chairman of Psychiatry at The Zucker Hillside Hospital. He is Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology and Neuroscience and holds the Dr. E. Richard Feinberg Chair in Schizophrenia Research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Kane received his B.A. from Cornell University and his M.D. from the New York University School of Medicine. He currently directs the NIMH-funded Intervention Research Center for the Study of Schizophrenia at The Zucker Hillside Hospital. He has been a member of the Board of Scientific Counselors for NIMH, and he has served on the council of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology. He has chaired the NIMH Psychopathology and Psychobiology Review Committee as well as the Psychopharmacologic Drugs Advisory Committee of the Food and Drug Administration.

Dr. Kane is a recipient of the Arthur P. Noyes Award in Schizophrenia, the NAPPH Presidential Award for Research, the American Psychiatric Association Foundations' Fund Prize for Research, the Kempf Fund Award for Research Development in Psychobiological Psychiatry, the Lieber Prize for Outstanding Research in Schizophrenia, the Heinz E. Lehmann Research Award from New York State, and the Dean Award from the American College of Psychiatrists.

Christoph U. Correll, MD is a research psychiatrist at The Zucker Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks, N.Y., and assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, N.Y. He also is the medical director at the Zucker Hillside Hospital’s Recognition and Prevention (RAP) Program, and the director of the Adverse Events Assessment and Prevention Unit and the Core Laboratory Unit, at the Zucker Hillside Hospital Advanced Center for Intervention and Services Research in Glen Oaks, New York.

Dr. Correll completed his medical studies at both the Free University of Berlin, and Dundee University Medical School in Scotland. After finishing his general psychiatry residency at The Zucker Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks, N.Y., he trained in child and adolescent psychiatry at Schneider Children’s Hospital in New Hyde Park, N.Y. Dr. Correll is a diplomat in both psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry for the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Dr. Correll’s research and clinical work focus is on the early identification and treatment of mood disorders and schizophrenia, the psychotic and the bipolar prodrome, as well as the risk-benefit evaluation of psychotropic medications at all illness stages. He has authored or coauthored papers on these topics, serves as a current member of American Psychiatric Association Work Group on Diabetes and Second-generation Antipsychotic Agents and is a reviewer for many scientific journals, including Archives of General Psychiatry, American Journal of Psychiatry, Biological Psychiatry, Journal of clinical Psychiatry, Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Neuropsychopharmacology and Schizophrenia Research.

Del D. Miller, PharmD, MD is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. He serves as the Medical Director of an adult inpatient unit that specializes in the treatment of persons with psychotic disorders at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Dr. Miller received a BS in Pharmacy at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Kentucky. He earned an MD at Case Western Reserve Medical School in Cleveland. After graduating, he completed his Psychiatric Residency and a Fellowship in Neurobiology at the University of Iowa College of Medicine.

Dr. Miller’s research has focused primarily on the clinical psychopharmacology of schizophrenia. He currently holds grants from the NIMH and a NARSAD Independent Investigator Award. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 articles and book chapters.
