Dr. Roy Fleischmann serves as director of the Rheumatology Division at St. Paul University Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He is also a clinical professor of medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and co-medical director of Radiant Research-Dallas. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology.

He has authored over 80 peer-reviewed research publications and has presented almost 100 peer-reviewed abstracts at major scientific meetings in addition to writing several textbook chapters on biologics and rheumatology. Dr. Fleischmann regularly presents his research at major rheumatology meetings such as the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR). He has been voted one of the best doctors in Dallas by D Magazine (Dallas), in Texas by Texas Monthly and one of the best doctors in the United States.

After completing an undergraduate degree in zoology from Columbia College of Columbia University, Dr. Fleischmann received his M.D. from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, in 1969. He completed his residency, internship and fellowship in arthritis at hospitals in New York, and started his rheumatology practice at St. Paul University Hospital in Dallas in 1978.

Dr. Fleischmann served on several committees for the American College of Rheumatology, including the finance committee, and on the fund raising committee of the Research and Education Foundation of the ACR from 2001 to 2003. Dr. Fleischmann is Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology.

Dr. Kathryn Hobbs is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. She is also Administrative Director of Clinical Research at the Denver Arthritis Clinic. Before she joined the Denver Arthritis Clinic in 2001, Dr. Hobbs served as Director of Clinical Research for the divisions of Rheumatology and Allergy/Clinical Immunology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Hobbs graduated with Highest Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. After receiving her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Dr. Hobbs completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the Texas Medical Center. She finished her residency and rheumatology fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. At the National Jewish Center for Allergic and Respiratory Diseases in Denver, Dr. Hobbs then completed fellowships in Allergy and Clinical Immunology and Laboratory Clinical Immunology. Dr. Hobbs is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, with subspecialty certification in Rheumatology and in Allergy/Immunology.

Dr. Hobbs has been the recipient of the President’s Grant-in-Aid Award, a First Place Clemons Von Pirquet Award, and was a Judge Marvin Jones Presidential Scholar. She is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha, the American College of Rheumatology, and the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology. She has served as a Principal Investigator on numerous research trials, with topics ranging from rheumatoid arthritis to respiratory diseases.

Dr. Hobbs has been published in multiple journals and internet articles, with subjects that include the molecular biology of cytokines in allergy and asthma, the diagnosis and management of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, among others.

Dr. Hobbs’ clinical interests lie primarily in the treatment of autoimmune disease, including rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory arthritis states, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, ankylosing spondylitis, and others. Outside of clinic, Dr. Hobbs has two teenage children who keep her on her toes. Her personal interests include playing the piano, classical voice training, and riding horses. A former regional competitor in eventing, she now focuses exclusively on dressage.

Dr. Mease is a clinical professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington, chief of Rheumatology Clinical Research at the Swedish Medical Center, and conducts clinical practice with Seattle Rheumatology Associates.

Dr. Mease conducts clinical trials of emerging therapies for a number of rheumatic disease conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, and osteoporosis. He has authored numerous articles and book chapters and is on review boards for Arthritis & Rheumatism, the Journal of Rheumatology, and the Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases. Awards he has received include the Medical Communicator Award of the American College of Rheumatology.

An advisor and educator on the study and therapy of rheumatic diseases, Dr. Mease is on the medical advisory boards of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, the Lupus Foundation, the Psoriasis Foundation, and the Northwest Arthritis & Osteoporosis Institute. He is a founding organizer of GRAPPA (Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis), an international consortium of rheumatology and dermatology investigators and representatives of patient service leagues, the biopharmaceutical industry, and regulatory agencies. He is also chair or co-chair of three working groups of OMERACT (Outcome Measures in Rheumatology Clinical Trials): psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, and single joint assessment.

Dr. Mease earned his medical degree from Stanford University Medical School in Stanford, California. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where he was subsequently chief resident and fellow in rheumatology.

Alan J. Bridges, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed his residency, chief residency and rheumatology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Bridges is Chief of Staff at the Madison VA Hospital and Professor of Medicine in the Rheumatology Section of the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is Senior Vice-Chair of the Department of Medicine. He also directs the University of Wisconsin Hospital Immunology Laboratory.

Dr. Bridges has published more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of rheumatoid arthritis, autoantibody testing and medical education. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology (ACR). He has served on numerous local, regional and national committees.

Dr. Bridges has received teaching awards at three different medical schools and received the University of Wisconsin Department of Medicine Professionalism Award in 2004. He is a volunteer for the Arthritis Foundation and received the William A. Yost Volunteer of the Year Award for the State of Wisconsin in 2002.
