Orrin M. Troum, MD
Orrin M. Troum, M.D. is a Clinical Professor of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California.  Dr. Troum received his B.S. Degree in Biology at Tulane University, New Orleans, LA.  He attended the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, School of Medicine and the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey prior to completing his internship/residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Rheumatology at Los Angeles County/USC Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and is also a Certified Clinical Densitometrist by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry.  Dr. Troum is a founding fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a member of the Southern California Rheumatology Society, Philadelphia Rheumatism Society and the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research.

He served as a full-time faculty member (Acting Clinical Director of Rheumatology) at LAC/USC prior to starting his rheumatology private practice in 1986.  He is a member of the Board of Directors and Medical and Scientific committee of the Arthritis Foundation’s largest US chapter in Southern California.  He is past president of the Southern California Rheumatology Society, 1999-2000.  Dr. Troum is a principal investigator in clinical trial research that focuses on rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory arthropathies, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. 


John V. Crues, III, MD
John V. Crues, III, MD, is Fellowship Director and Vice President of Radnet, Inc in Los Angeles, California and President of Pronet Imaging Medical Group. He earned his BA in physics at Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts, his MS in physics at the University of Illinois in Urbana, and his MD at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. Further training included an internship in internal medicine at the University of Southern California School of Medicine in Los Angeles and residencies in internal medicine and diagnostic radiology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles.

Dr. Crues has authored over 100 articles primarily addressing magnetic resonance imaging in sports medicine and rheumatology, edited 12 textbooks and CDs, and 24 textbook chapters. He is an assistant editor for the Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and the American Journal of Roentgenology, as well as reviewer for numerous other scientific journals.

Dr. Crues is Treasurer of the International Society for Extremity MRI in Rheumatology and a Fellow and Past President of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology; and a member of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), the International Skeletal Society, the Los Angeles Radiological Society, The American College of Rheumatology, and the Association of Program Directors in Radiology.


Sergio Schwartzman, MD
Sergio Schwartzman, MD, is The Franchellie M. Cadwell Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at Cornell Weill Medical College and Associate Attending Physician at the New York Presbyterian Hospital and at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Dr. Schwartzman earned his BA in Chemistry and Spanish literature at the State University of New York in Binghamton, and his MD at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Long Island Jewish Hillside Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York. His fellowship was conducted in the Department of Rheumatic Diseases at the New York Hospital and The Hospital for Special Surgery.

Dr. Schwartzman has authored or coauthored 40 articles, abstracts, books, and book chapters concerning autoimmune eye disease, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, autoimmune ophthalmic disease and related topics. He is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Rheumatology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Schwartzman is the recipient of honors and awards, including the Fellows Award presented by the Northeast Regional American Rheumatism Association and The Franchellie M. Cadwell Chair.

His current research interests are in defining and treating autoimmune diseases of the eye including uveitis, vasculitis, scleritis and autoimmune orbital inflammatory disease. He is also involved in therapeutic trials that are defining the role of new agents in the treatment of all autoimmune diseases.
